A designer who
came back to code.
I’m Neil Busque. I’m from the Philippines, and I live in New Jersey.
I’ve worked in graphic design, marketing, CRM automation, and software. I didn’t plan the whole path. Each step came from wanting to understand more of the work I was doing.
Today, I design and build products. I like being able to sketch an interface, build what’s behind it, and keep improving it once someone is actually using it.
Learning to look closely
I got into graphic design through logos, flyers, t-shirts, and design contests. I spent a lot of time working on typography and layout, taking feedback, and starting again.
Understanding the business
At an engineering company, I worked on the website, marketing, and SEO. Paid ads and funnels came next. I started thinking about the whole customer journey, beyond the screen I was designing.
Connecting the tools
CRM work brought me back to programming. I used GoHighLevel, Zapier, n8n, and APIs to connect systems and reduce the manual work between them.
Designing and building products
Now I work across product design, software, automation, and AI. I use Claude Code and Codex every day. My work includes client systems and personal products like Orbit and Tandem.
A lot of this comes
back to family.
My mom moved to the United States when I was in high school. She worked for more than a decade to bring our family over, one person at a time. That’s how I got here.
My wife is in the Philippines. Tandem and Watch Together began as things for us: a way to share the everyday parts of life when we can’t be in the same place.
Outside work, I spend time with family, go to the gym, and usually have another side project in progress.
